Listening to David Bowie late at night would make anyone want to take a hit of acid. It’s late at night, and all I can do is sit and listen while I wait for the smoke to clear. There’s been a lot of smoke this year. I’m tired of it. It’s clogging up my lungs and making life feel defunct. David bowie sings: “Something tells me you’re the devil’s daughter,” I think he might be right. I don’t have long blond hair, and I wouldn’t by choice wear such a thing. However, things are gearing up, or gearing out, and i can’t tell if I’d rather make it clear or obscure it some more.  Perhaps this is not a choice I have to make.

Many choices were made this year, for better or for worse – the trouble is that I can’t tell which.  And now, and now, and tomorrow.. it’ll play with my mind forever more, forever more. My goodness. The dogs have been let loose, haven’t they? I make no sense to myself nor to others. Ha. As it should be, really.

As a practiced cryptician, I’d like to believe that I’ve mastered my expression without revealing myself. I’m neither too careful nor too reckless. those who know, unfortunately know. Myself included. I wish I knew nothing. I wish there was nothing to know. It seems it’s too late for that, isn’t it?

All you need is chess. I guess.

Oh, the young Americans…

It’s been so long

April 17, 2008

It’s been so long since I’ve updated the old blog that WordPress went ahead and changed everything on me. Now I have no clue what I’m doing anymore and must relearn the whole process. Thanks WordPress. Not that I have much to say, but whatever I scrounge up, I’d like to be confident of my ability to blog it properly.

So i had a dream last night about human chess. Suddenly, everyone had to move like chess pieces. I encountered a man who incessantly lamented the fact that he was no longer upwardly mobile, just diagonally mobile. And I asked: “Yes, but on what squares? The black or the white?”

The knight-moving people seemed to be having the most fun out of everyone.

This dream might have something to do with the fact that I watched the documentary ‘Kasparov Vs. the Machine’ recently. Note to readers: if you have not watched it yet; watch it. If you have watched it; re-watch it. The way Kasparov mutters “stupid machine!!” is priceless, and not to be missed.

And I’ll end this post with an equally brilliant and bizarre video, which I hope you will enjoy.
